Violet Bridgerton’s Season 3 Love Interest

After watching Queen Charlotte where Violet Bridgerton declares her “garden in bloom” once more after years of it being untilled, so to speak, it seems like a pretty good bet that she is going to get a love interest in Bridgerton Season 3. As someone who has been advocating this since I saw Season 1, I am extremely excited to see how this idea plays out for our matriarch.

First off, let’s look at what Violet is looking for in a man. She states that she and Edmund had a very lush garden, and with eight children it’s not surprising that she enjoyed her marital relations with the man she loved. So obviously Violet is going to look for some physical attraction and compatibility. Not that I think she’ll be shallow at all in her search, but I think she’s going to be out for someone who gives her pleasure.

On the flip side of that, I also think that she will be looking for someone who doesn’t get too close to her heart. She had her big love with Edmund, and she makes clear to Lady Danbury that she’s not looking to marry again. I think Violet wants to feel those feelings once more, to feel wanted and desired, and to want and desire in return. And more power to her. I think that whatever her first relationship is, it won’t be one that lasts forever. I think she should explore a bit, sow her wild oats in a way she never would have been able to before. I think maybe she could have another big love down the road, but for the time being, I think it will be something fun and casual.

And the big contender for who I think will be her partner in this is none other than Marcus Anderson, a character we haven’t met yet in the show but was announced with several others as a part of the series. He is described in “What’s On Netflix” as “a charismatic man who can light up any room he enters, which often gets him the attention of many ladies, to the ire of his peers.” I can’t find the original source for this addition to the description, but it’s been floating around for awhile that is “attracting the notice of certain matriarchs in the town — and the ire of others.” Sounds to me like a good chance for Violet.

If you look at pictures of Daniel Francis, it’s not hard to see why thoughts have gone this direction. Many have speculated even before Queen Charlotte brought up Violet’s garden that Mr. Anderson could be for one of the older ladies given that description. That makes sense as Francis looks to be a bit older than most of the young men of the ton. From some Googling and a bit of math on my part, I think he’s 38, though I couldn’t find an official age. That’s a perfect spot for Violet with a slightly younger man.

While of course this might come to nothing, or Marcus Anderson could be playing an entirely different role in the show, I hope this is the route they take. I so much want to see Violet “blooming” again, and with such a hunk on the Ton, I am ready for this kind of love story for an older woman.
