What Will Tudum Bring Us For the Bridgerverse?
The big news we recently got that Bridgerton will be at Tudum in Brazil on June 17 was a big one! After more than a year of no new, official, main story Bridgerton content, #fridgerton has been killer. So when we heard that not only will Bridgerton be at the event, but according to Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington, said we will be getting our first look. After last year’s Tudum was such a small look, we are positively ravenous as fans. What we’ll actually be getting is on everyone’s mind. Another big question is why Queen Charlotte is at Tudum and what we’ll get about that. So a lot of things to cover. Below, I’ll dive into all the possibilities of what we’ll be getting.
Who will actually be there?
We know that Luke Newton won’t be in attendance, so it seems any of his appearances for Tudum will have been pre-taped. We’ve now gotten photos of Nicola on the ground in Brazil, as well as India and Corey, so we can look forward to all of them in attendance, in person, giving us details. It’s fairly certain other people will show up in some capacity, like with recordings, and it’s definitely possible someone could video call in. So we could be seeing quite a few Bridgerton faces at Tudum!
What could we get from Queen Charlotte? The way I mark it, there are three main possibilities as to what the cast of Queen Charlotte could be giving us at the event.
1) BTS content and interviews. The Instagram has been active with a lot of behind the scenes stuff for the show, and I think we could get more of that with more from the actors. India and Corey are electric together, and from all the interviews they’ve had together, it would be delightful to get more of that.
2) Announcing a Queen Charlotte Season 2. This is certainly a possibility as Shonda has said she’s open to it, but Queen Charlotte has always been billed as a limited series. One and done. That doesn’t mean we can’t return to some of the characters, though, which leads to the next possibility…
3) Announcing the next spinoff. It would make a ton of sense to have the main QC cast announce in a kind of torch passing way the next spinoff of the Bridgerverse. That makes even more sense if the spinoff is with characters we’ve met already in QC, like Violet, Agatha, or the Smythe-Smiths.
Now, onto what might be coming for Bridgerton Season 3…Of course, we could get just a bit of the cast interacting like at last year’s Tudum, but I think we are going to get a major content drop. That might mean…
1) First look photos! I think we will definitely get these as Nicola mentioned we’d be getting our first look at Bridgerton Season 3. So I think some content in this arena is all but guaranteed, and even if they don’t show them at Tudum, they’ll be released at the same time.
2) Teaser scene! This is what I think is most likely. With Bridgerton S2 and Queen Charlotte, we got a teaser scene about 6-7 months before the release. If they’re looking at an end of year release for S3 (which I think they are) a teaser scene would make sense. It gets the hype up in a real way and gives fans something to sink their teeth into content wise.
3) Release date! This is a possibility, though I don’t think the most likely one. Usually they drop a release date about 3 months in advance, and I don’t see us getting Season 3 in September when we haven’t gotten any inside looks yet. Still, because QC made things different this year, maybe they’ll change things around and tell us the release date before we get those first looks.
4) Trailer! This is what I think is the least likely. They tend to save trailers for fairly close to the release, but we could theoretically get a “teaser" trailer where it’s only about a minute long or so but gives us glimpses of the first few episodes.
Really, it could be anything from Tudum as they like to keep us on our toes, any combination of these items, or maybe something entirely different, though that seems unlikely. If I have to call my shot, I think Queen Charlotte might be announcing the next spinoff, and Bridgerton Season 3 will drop a teaser scene with some stills. In any case, I can’t wait to see what Saturday brings!
